New MMD at BNO!

JJ

Is this our newest multimedia designer or an image still from the latest Mountain Dew campaign? Give up? It’s the first one, although he is almost as extreme as the aforementioned soft-drink. His name is JJ Sereday and you can find him in our interactive department, usually in front of a super complicated Cinema 4D file, or some other impossible-to-understand motion graphics program. That’s pretty extreme, right? Well, kinda nerdy actually.

But don’t be fooled. He’s actually a pretty accomplished skateboarder and snowboarder and has been sponsored in international competitions around the world. This means, he can steal your girlfriend faster than you can say “triple kickflip,” and he’s fearless to the max! He also once surfed through a hurricane (for real!) and invented a cure for hiccups (patent pending). Basically, JJ’s like the Old Spice guy, but real.

Patch Adams: VP of Technology Services

Ok, so it’s not really Patch Adams, but we’re happy to welcome Rich Toomey to BNO as our new VP of Technology Services. He provides technical guidance on our Digital Projects, day-to-day management of our technical teams, and .pretty much just helps us leverage technology appropriately so we can continue to provide totally awesome service to our totally awesome clients. But you probably already knew he did that from looking at his picture.
Rich comes to us with a monster of a background in software development. From inception and design to implementation and delivery, he’s successfully managed it all, going on 15 years now. When he’s not nerding about Linux distribution or AOSD, he indulges his more primal instincts: barbecuing anything he can get his hands on, 365 days a year. Oh, you’ve never seen a software developer barbecuing in the middle of a snow storm? Well then you haven’t lived, my friend.

The Making Of Our 2009 Holiday Site

image

We had a ton of fun (and quite a few all-nighters) creating an ambitious, one-of-a-kind holiday site featuring an original recording, Flash animation, and an incredible amount of coding. You’ll see that while the entire animation takes only 1:42, creating, producing and developing it took a wee bit longer.

If you’re up to it, here’s a How-To Guide for creating your own version of a site like ours:

Workamajig – A Funny Name for an Application that’s All Business

wmj_logoA while back, we were in search of an application to tie all of our work into one single collaborative platform, in order to match the needs of complex and lengthy projects. We needed an online solution for project trafficking and management that would improve the quality of those areas through afforded efficiencies. In today’s market, the creative agency has several options to choose from when looking to coalesce their Traffic, Project Management, and Customer Relationship Management tools with their Purchasing, Accounting, and Finance systems into a single Enterprise Resource Program. Secondwind Online cites the most major and relevant players as:

Revitalizing Our Own Brand. Proof That We Practice What We Preach.

BNO_graphicIf you’ve noticed that our look has changed a bit, it’s because we thought it was time to revitalize our brand to better reflect the scope of work we are producing these days. While things like packaging and collateral are still very much a part of our arsenal of campaign elements, we have also been doing a lot in digital realm.  From video and motion graphics, to interactive web-based tools and custom software applications, to virtual events and social media. Many of the inventive strategies we are developing leverage technology in order to help our clients benefit from deeper, more meaningful relationships with their customers, employees and prospects.

We hope you like our new look with the digitally-inspired “n,” capturing our mantra: innovate, inspire, involve.  If you’d like to learn more about how we add business value, let’s start a conversation.
